Lahaina's dam has given me primarily bucks every single year. The year Lahaina was born I had intended to keep a buckling from her dam, to replace her sire that I lost to pneumonia after a really awful winter storm. Instead, I got twin doelings. Lahaina is so much like her dam, not only in build, but in attitude. Despite being a bottle baby, attention is all on her terms. Usually she comes in easily for milking, but if you trim her feet on the stand, be prepared to have to go in and catch her for at least a week until she forgives you. Andromeda took until she was 3 before she really started to wow, and I think Lahaina will do the same. I'm especially looking forward to showing her, since Andromeda has always hated the show ring. Lahaina milked sufficient to earn her star in all 3 categories her first lactation, so we are just waiting for ADGA to be able to enter that.
